"During a short trip to Cambodia in 2010, we went on a boat ride to see a floating village where people actually live on their boats. They will move the entire village from time to tome in order to continue their work of fishing. It is very interesting to see this different way of life. I was overwhelmed with the vibrant colors of the boats and the activity on the river. Children were floating in metal tubs and playing with snakes, people were working and playing everywhere. I made several photos that day. While editing later, one shot caught my eye; it was two men fishing with nets. It was a great shot of life on the river, but even better, was the small girl sitting in the back of the boat watching the men fish. She was almost hidden and seemed a bit sad to me. She was sitting idly by while everywhere around her was bustling with activity. It makes me wonder about her story." -Julie Moskal
